VISITING THE CHURCH
We are always delighted to welcome visitors to the church,
either to attend services or just to look around. You are especially
welcome to the Sunday
morning service when you can stay after the service for
a chat, a cup of tea or coffee and some cake or biscuits.
The church is located in Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3UW, about a
half-mile south of Tower Bridge and the same distance from London Bridge
Station. Find us on www.multimap.com
- the church is just below the circle for SE1 3UW. Note that the
church is just in the congestion charge area (Mon-Fri, 0700-1800).
Car parking is limited in Bermondsey St, there is usually somewhere to park (pay at a
machine) on the east
of Tower Bridge Road (outside the congestion charge area) which then allows a pleasant 200 yard walk
through the
churchyard. The parking restrictions do not apply on Sundays.
The nearest Rail/Underground station is London Bridge (900 yards). Buses travel nearby along Tooley Street (381East & 47), Crucifix Lane (381 West), Tower Bridge Road (42, 78 & 188),
Tower Bridge Road/Grange Road (1)
and Long Lane/Abbey Street (C10).
Outside of service times (see the services page), the
church is usually open on Friday mornings, from 9.30 to 12.30 (times approximate), but please check with us first (see
Contacts page) in order to avoid disappointment if you are coming far as it may be closed even
then. At all other times it has to be kept locked, regrettably, and so
prior notice is required if you wish to look inside. To make it possible
for people to see inside the church, we have started doing guided tours on a 4-6
weekly basis, so please see the Guided Tours
page.
If you wish to see the Rector (for example regarding banns/weddings/baptisms), you are advised to contact him
directly (see
Contacts page) to make an appointment rather than just turning up.
